Quality time with loved ones

Take the time to be with someone you love. Whether that be a call or in person, time with someone you love is much needed.

Don’t multitask while you’re with them. No TV or dinner or working. Sit down and talk. Talk about anything together.

Talk out difficult problems you’re having. Ask them what’s going really well and what they would like to improve in their lives.

When you’re having a hard time, they’ll be there to help. When they’re struggling you can help guide them in the right direction.

Your family is always there when you need them. They’ll always have your back. They will always believe in you.

Appreciate the time spent with your family. They won’t always be around.

Make it a goal to reach out to a family member once a week to go for a walk or have a call.

Grinding it out

Sometimes you have to do. Grind out tough work. When first starting a business, on a run, or at your day job, you’re going to have to grind it out.

There will be days when you have to work long hours and sleep very little. In the moment it may not be fun but after it’s amazing.

The feeling of digging deep in a tough run is one that cannot be matched. The feeling of building a blog or finishing a side project. The feeling of working late and seeing success from your hard work.

The grind is a necessary component of the process. It needs to be done but not everyone is willing to do.

Be willing to do what it takes to finish. Keep pushing through these times.

Learn to enjoy them. Think of the end result.

The grind can be a thing of beauty once you’ve seen your final product or result.

It’s not just one day of grinding through work either. It’s all about consistent effort on a daily basis.

Focus on doing the things others aren’t willing to do.

Don’t doubt yourself

If no one else will believed in you, you have to believe in yourself.

Belive in your abilities. You wouldn’t be where you are without being good at something. Don’t underestimate your value to individuals or a company.

You can do whatever you want with your life.

It’s so much about having he belief you can accomplish something. Once you believe you can do it, you have to stick to your goal until it’s accomplished.

Not everything you do will work but it will be necessary for your overall mission.

Everything you do will become a lesson for your next piece of work. Believe in the process. Believe the work you’re putting in now will pay off.

If you continue to do the little things on a daily basis they will compound. It’s compounding interest for your personal benefit.

We will all go through periods of doubt. Doubt will happen because we’re human. We need to ultimately believe in what we’re doing now will pay off and believe in our abilities.

“We have always held to the hope, the belief, the conviction that there is a better life, a better world, beyond the horizon.” -Franklin D. Roosevelt

Perception

The world is how you perceive it. If you think everyone is horrible and see no happiness in the world, that will become your reality. That’s all you’ll find and attract.

If you see the beauty in the small moments and believe everyone has a good heart, that will be your world. Positive and happy people will gravitate towards you. You create friends through the way you act.

Being optimistic and positive should be your goal. Pessimists never see anything good. There is always something wrong. Some problem with the way things are.

Your perception and attitude of others and of your situation matter tremendously.

We’re all good people at our core. We want to help others succeed as much as we ourselves want to.

Your friends and surroundings will change with your attitude. That’s guaranteed to happen. You’ll grow closer to the positive people and further apart from the downers.

Look for people who you want to emulate. If you meet someone positive and driven, pay attention to the way he act, the habits they have, and the people they hang around.

That can be you. Stay positive and optimistic. Things can always be worse. You have a great life. Don’t take that for granted. Focus on the things you have now and the people in your life.

Perception matters. You can create the life you’ve always dreamed of.

“I believe you make your day. You make your life. So much of it is all perception, and this is the form that I built for myself. I have to accept it and work within those compounds, and it’s up to me.” -Brad Pitt

Don’t live someone else’s life

There will be times when you’re pushed to go in a certain direction. “This is what everyone does”. “This is what you’re supposed to do”. You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to do.

You have to live your own life. You will never be happy if you live someone else’s life. You may be okay with it for years but once you get older and older you’ll begin having regret.

Don’t regret anything you do in life. Do whatever you want no matter what is normal. No matter who tells you what they want you to do. Do what makes you happy.

You don’t have to quit your job. Do something you love on the side until you can quit your job.

It will take time. Be patient. Do the little things day by day. Small calculated steps will get you to your goals.

You can’t wait for something to happen

Nothing will change unless you do something about it. You can complain and whine about your life but ultimately you are the one in control.

If you want to make something happen you have to go do it.

If you don’t know what you want to do with your life, try a bunch of different projects and see what you like.

Your life will be gone before you know it if you stand around waiting for some opportunity to come your way. Go out and start taking action. Do something. Do anything.

Don’t fear the change. Change is necessary for improvement. Without change you’ll never become the person you e always dreamed of becoming.

Create that blog you’ve always been talking about. Sign up for that 5k you’ve been putting off. Start a side project.

If you want something to happen, make it happen. You’re ready right now to begin.

Helping your customers

No matter what your occupation is, think about the positive impact your products will have on your customers. Your intention should be to helping your customers improve. Helping them become more efficient and ultimately make their daily lives easier.

It goes beyond that though. It’s about helping your customers beyond their immediate needs.

Once someone buys your product, that’s just the beginning. If you want customers to remain customers, you need to go beyond the initial help.

Make sure everything is going smoothly with them. If you have to implement a product, make sure it’s being implemented successfully.

Ask them what you can do to help. Figure out where they’re struggling. Figure out where you can make the process easier. If you want long-term customers, don’t only think about the initial sale, think about their long-term value.

Change is always difficult. We’re all humans. If you can make the change easier for your customers by directly helping them with the process, they will remain loyal to you for years. They’ll shout from the rooftops about your product. They’ll tell everyone they know about how amazing your service/product is.

You want raving fans. Go beyond that initial sale and help your customers achieve their goals.

It won’t have any immediate impact but it will pay you tenfold in the future.

Find the good in people

Don’t talk poorly about someone behind their back. Find the good qualities in everyone. Everyone is special. Everyone is different.

Talking bad about someone benefits no one. It’s gossiping. When someone comes up to you and starts talking portly about a colleague of yours say something positive about them.

Let the other person know that you respect your colleagues.

Everyone at their core has some good in them. Help them bring out that goodness.

Compliment them sincerely. Praise them if they’ve done something worth praising. Help them when they have questions. It feels good to help someone.

Be good and kind to people and they’ll return the favor. They’ll help you when you’re up for a promotion or when you are struggling at work.

You can’t do this alone. It doesn’t work like that. You need other people’s help.

See the good in everyone you meet and they will help lift you to the top.

It’s good to lose

Especially if you’ve been consistently winning. It will humble you quickly.

It’s a great learning experience. No matter how good you’ve been lately, you can always get better. You will never be perfect at what you do.

It’s the process of continuous improvement. Don’t settle for being good. Push yourself to become the best version of yourself.

Losing helps with that. Whether that be someone rejecting your offer or an idea being shot down, focus on what you could have done better.

Losing will help you reflect on yourself. Don’t get too confident and relax. You will start to lose consistently. Focus on what got you to the point you’re at now.

Hard work doesn’t end once you’ve become good, it’s just begun. Be hard on yourself. Write down the ways you think you can improve each week. Be aware of your faults and shortcomings.

You will keep getting better if you take losing in stride. Don’t dwell on the loses. Figure out what you can do better, learn from it, and apply your lessons. If it was something that was preventable, don’t let it happen again.

You need a gut check every now and then.

Preparation

Always be ready. Plan your days in advance. If you don’t have a schedule you’re going to react to the day. You’ll let the day control you instead of you controlling the day.

Have an outline of what you’d like to accomplish in the day.

It doesn’t have to be extremely in depth. It just needs to be some sort of plan. Anything small. Email 15 prospects between 8:00 am and 10:00 am.

You now have a plan for that time. Guard that time. Make sure you’re following through with the plan you’ve set. Focus on accomplishing your goal in that time.

If you get a call to do something else or an incoming email, push it until your next time block. Be proactive with you day.

Reacting to your days causes a frazzled day an creates stress. You’ll soon be overwhelmed and usually accomplish little during the day.

A plan sets your day up in manageable chunks. It’s gives you structure. It’s gives you clarity.

Get into creating consistent, daily plans in all areas of your life.

It’s no luck

The reason you’re producing positive results from your work is no coincidence. It’s not by chance that you’re starting to do well.

It’s not luck. It’s work. It’s positive habits. It’s focus, determination, motivation, dedication, consistency, and hard work. The work you do everyday will pay off. Believe it. It’s bound to happen.

Don’t let anyone tell you it’s all luck. It’s not.

Focus on continuing what you’ve been doing everyday. Keep up with the work. Keep your positive habits and eliminate your bad habits.

It’s starting to pay off. Congratulations. Take a minute to reflect and appreciate this moment. Don’t be known by one moment. Show everyone you’re the real deal.

“Shallow men believe in luck. Strong men believe in cause and effect.” -Ralph Waldo Emerson

Keep grinding

Once you start yielding positive results we have the tendency to become complacent. We start letting our foot off the gas pedal. Don’t.

Once you start displaying results you need to work even harder to maintain the success you’ve seen. Don’t sit around waiting for something to happen. Keep pushing hard. Keep the momentum.

Make sure you do the exact same things that got you to this point. Don’t let others try to drag you down or waste your time. Be selective with what you do.

You need to make sure your success doesn’t become a fluke but instead a result of consistent hard work. The grind never stops. If you want to become great at something you need to put in the time it takes to become great.

Believe you can do it. Focus on the consistent work.

Once you start seeing results, make sure you focus on continuous improvement. You’ll never hit a point where you’re too good at something to get better. Schedule time each day for improvement. At least 1 hour should be set aside each day.

You need self-awareness in order to improve. You need feedback from others. You need help from others.

Keep doing what you did to initially see success.

It’s bound to happen

Consistent work is bound to pay off. Hard work is bound to pay off. Time practicing and honing your craft. Focusing on getting better everyday. Learning from your mistakes. Learning from failure.

Success has to follow these steps. If you lay the foundation for success, eventually it will happen. The belief in yourself and the process is crucial.

You can do it. You will do it. It is possible.

It’s going to take time to become good and even longer to become great. It’s worth the sacrifice of time now for the success and freedom later.

Delay the immediate rewards now. Work on making yourself better. Sacrifice the events now for hard work and effort. Focus on constant improvement.

The consistency has to eventually pay off. The dam has to eventually break.

Times will be tough. You’re going to want to quit. Don’t let yourself get caught up in the way you feel now. Remind yourself of the future rewards.

Dredge through the shit now. Grind out the long days and hours. Continue being persistent. Focus on staying hungry and determined. You never know how close you are to a goal until you accomplish it.

You can accomplish all your greatest dreams if you never give up.

“Energy and persistence conquer all things.” – Benjamin Franklin

Make time

“Someone who is busier than you is running right now.”

You can make time. If you believe you don’t have time, you need to reflect on your choices throughout the day. You have to make time for your most important daily actions.

That could be working out, reading, meditating, writing, etc. Whatever it may be, do it every day. It doesn’t have to be hours and hours of working out or writing. Something small is okay.

You’re going to miss a day. Focus on trying your best to not miss two days in a row. Hold yourself accountable for your actions. Let people know what you’re going to do. You’d be surprised how well it works.

If you want to get better at something, you need to practice it on a daily basis. That’s the only way to get better at something; continuous practice.

If something is that important to you, you’ll find the time.

Plan out your day. Make sure you block off time to work on your daily action. There is someone out there busier than you are finding time to do what they love. Make it a priority of yours to do the same.

Have fun and enjoy the process.

Don’t stay stagnant forever

At some point you need to make a move. You can’t stay in the same spot forever. Make a choice one way or the other.

You already know the decision deep down. You can’t wait forever, it needs to be done. You know you have to change up your current situation.

It’s not fair to the other party involved if you’re delaying a decision. If you know it’s not working, end it.

You can’t stay in the same place pretending everything is fine. The other party may think it’s fine but you know it’s not. You know you’ve been waiting too long on your decision. If you’re going to stay, commit to it. Don’t have one foot in and one foot out.

Go all in if you’re in. You don’t want stagnation. You want some forward motion at all times. Constantly improving the way you’re doing things. If your current situation isn’t allowing you growth, move on.

You need to create your own path. Don’t worry about what other people may be saying. It ultimately comes down to your decision. You can get feedback from other people all you want but they can’t choose for you.

Don’t keep complaining about your current situation. Suck it up and work your ass off or move on. Complaining does no one any good.

You need to accept the decision you make. Don’t regret anything. You know it needs to be done, go ahead and do it. Stay positive and happy with the choice you make.

“Strength and growth come only through continuous effort and struggle.” -Napoleon Hill
